Horizon Church Jaco
What we believe
At Horizon Church Jaco, we believe that Jesus is God. Because of that, everything we do is simply about Jesus. "Simply Jesus" is a mentality that can guide us through so many of life's questions. Our congregation is diverse and even though there are many philosophies and theories of how things should be done, Jesus should always be what we are all about. In Jesus, there is power, freedom, reconciliation, and salvation. Jesus should always be not only the center of our lives, but the center of the Church.
About the Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and is relevant and applicable to man today. Therefore, we place great emphasis upon teaching it in public, studying it in private, and using it as a guide for our daily lives.

About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the world.

About Man
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About the Christian Life
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. Christian service is part of the Christian life and is the responsibility of all believers. Our goal is to develop the ministry of every member to the benefit of all. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

About Spiritual Gifts
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercising of all Spiritual Gifts according to the instructions given to us in the Bible. (1 Cor. 12-14)

About the Church
We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. The Church, also known as the body of Christ, consists of those who have trusted by faith in Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known.
